As children and family photographers, we know how important it is to make and capture ALL the memories each holiday and the Easter season is no exception. The air feels amazing, flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, and the whole family is ready to get out and have some fun. Our family LOVES to explore our community and try new things, so we’ve done a search of some events we’re interested in this season, and we thought you might like to check out some of these awesome Easter and Spring activities too. Below you’ll find lots of local options in Mobile, Daphne, Fairhope, Spanish Fort, Orange Beach, Silverhill, Robertsdale, and Gulf Shores! We’ve ten Easter activities that will be fun for all ages and include live music, great food, Easter egg hunts, train rides, breakfast and photos with the Bunny, a fun run, and even Easter eggs-periments!
2024 Cottontail Express at Wales West Light Railway in Silverhill, AL
One of our favorite celebrations for each season is to visit the Wales West RV Resort and Light Railway. We have been going at Halloween and Christmas since our daughter was a baby and she loves it! Although we haven’t been for Easter yet, we’re planning to this year! Wales West has an authentic steam train to ride with your family, a meet and greet with the Easter Bunny where you can take your own photos, an egg hunt and Easter craft, a tractor ride, playground, and a bounce house. Perfect for little ones, but enjoyable for the whole family! We love their delicious Kettle Corn, so don’t forget to grab a bag when you visit! The train runs on Saturdays and Sunday March 2-March 30th and is closed on Easter.
Breakfast with the Bunny, at Double D’s Burger, Spanish Fort, AL (March 16, 2024, 8-10am)
Have fun building your own pancakes to look just like a bunny! Kids can assemble the bunny with strawberries and chocolate for feet and a whipped cream tail! After breakfast, join the Easter egg hunt and win prizes. The bunny will be there for photos!
Brunch with the Bunny on the Farm, Daphne (March 23, 2024, 10-12pm)
Our friends at You, Me, and the Boys Farmstead often have themed farm play days at their home farm. They’re hosting Brunch with the Easter Bunny! In addition to petting and feeding their farm animals, little ones can enjoy playing in the corn pit, the bubble machine, an inflatable obstacle course, swings, and a small zipline! Holy Grounds Coffee truck will be on site, as well as free face painting, and grab-and-go brunch! Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Easter Eggstravaganza at the Exploreum, Mobile AL, (March 23, 2024, 10am-2pm)
The Exploreum is sure to be a fun, learning experience for kids of all ages this Easter season! There will be STEM demonstrations like a Liquid Nitrogen Egg Smash and Egg in a Bottle in the labs! These fun experiments will follow a giant egg hunt that begins at 10:30! This event is open to all and is free for Exploreum members!
Eggstravaganza at Bellingrath Gardens and Home (March 23, 2024, from 9am-12pm)
Every year, Bellingrath Gardens and Home hosts a magical Eggstravaganza, enchanting families with its stunning floral displays and vibrant Easter festivities. From egg hunts amidst the azaleas to photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, this event allows kids the freedom to have fun in nature and the beauty of the expansive gardens. Bellingrath Gardens is stroller and wheelchair friendly, and they have kids’ wagons for rent to make things super easy for parents! There’s no better place to enjoy Spring blooms than at one of Alabama’s loveliest gardens. For more info, visit:
Daphne Easter Egg Dash 2024 (March 23, 2024, 9am-12pm)
Located at the Al Trione Sports Complex, kids can have fun hunting eggs in separated age divisions. Bring your basket and load up! There will be plenty of games, food vendors, inflatables, music, and a live DJ. And of course, the Easter Bunny will be there too! Visit the event page for details:
Robertsdale Easter Festivities, Garrett Park, (March 29, 2024, 10am-1pm)
Looking for something to do on the Friday before Easter? Hop on over to Garrett park to enjoy free ice cream, food, fun, and the BUNNY!
The Bunny Bolt 5k and 1 mile Run/Walk, Mobile, AL (March 30, 2024, at 8am Mobile Infirmary)
Looking for something active to do this Easter? How about getting the whole family involved in a family friendly 5k run and 1-mile fun run? Great for all ages and runner levels, hosted on the campus of Mobile Infirmary, this great community run benefits children’s health education programs. After the race, enjoy food, music, Bunny photos, and of course an Easter egg hunt!
Easter Eggstravaganza at The Wharf, Orange Beach (March 30, 2024, 11:00am-4:00pm)
Over 5,000 eggs, live bunnies, and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny are the perfect way to spend the day before Easter! The Wharf in Orange Beach hosts an Easter Eggstravaganza the Saturday before Easter every year from 11am-4pm! With live music and delicious treats, bounce houses, pony rides, and face-painting, the Wharf Easter Egg Hunt will be fun for the whole family!
Enjoy Easter Sunday on the water for a delicious brunch at Zeke’s. One of our favorite local bands, Stormfolk, will be playing live music. Brunch and photos with the Easter bunny are from 10-2, followed by an egg hunt at 2. Treat your family for an awesome day of delicious food, magnificent views, live music, and kids’ activities!
Our community has so many amazing, free, and low-cost community Easter activities. We love the Spring season as it’s the perfect time to get families together for photos, snuggle with bunnies and lambs for Easter portraits of your kids, and catch those gorgeous blooming flowers and golden sunsets.
